Source code and license

Remote Visio is free software. You can read every line that handles your voice, build it yourself, change it and share it, under the GNU AGPL-3.0.

Who made it

Remote Visio was originally written by Shu Chunhui, who built it for daily use and opened it up (github.com/hueshu/relaymic). Hykops develops the browser extension, the sender page and the relay on top of it and publishes them: the extension in the Chrome Web Store, the sender page at remotevisio.com/send, and this website.

What the license lets you do

Run it for any purpose, study how it works, change it, and share copies, modified or not, including commercially.

What it asks in return

If you distribute a modified version, or let people use one over a network, you must offer those people the complete source code of your version, under the same license. Running a modified copy on a server counts, even without handing out a program.

No warranty

Like all software under this license, Remote Visio comes without warranty, to the extent the law allows. The terms of use say more.

The source of what you use

The browser extension, the sender page and the relay are all built from the public repository at github.com/ohayak/relaymic. Its README.md says what each part does, and its SETUP.md how to load the extension unpacked and run the sender page and the relay yourself. The hashes of the files the sender page is served from are published in the repository (relay/send-manifest.json), so anyone can check what relay.remotevisio.com serves. For the source of a specific build you received, write to omar@hykops.com.

This website is built from the site/ folder of the same repository. Its page layout started from an open-source Astro template published under the MIT license, whose notice is kept in site/LICENSE-TEMPLATE.
