This policy explains what remotevisio.com stores in your browser, and how you choose. It covers this website only. The Remote Visio sender page at relay.remotevisio.com and the browser extension use no cookies at all (see the end of this page).
The short version
- Before you choose, the site sets no cookies and loads no analytics.
- If you click Accept, the site loads Google Analytics, which sets two cookies.
- If you click Decline, nothing else is stored apart from your choice itself.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline and do not show the banner. You can still accept in Cookie settings.
- You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
What is stored without your consent
Only what is strictly needed to remember your choices. It stays in your browser’s local storage, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and is not a cookie:
- Your cookie choice (key
rv-consent): whether you accepted or declined analytics, and the date. We keep it so the banner doesn’t come back on every page. We ask you again after 6 months. - Your light or dark theme (key
theme), only if you use the theme switch.
What is stored only if you accept
If you click Accept, the site loads Google Analytics 4 (property G-RMG8MNGGZQ), a service of Google. Google Analytics sets these first-party cookies on remotevisio.com:
_ga: distinguishes one visitor from another with a random identifier, so we can count visitors rather than page views. It expires after 2 years._ga_RMG8MNGGZQ: keeps track of the current visit (session) for this site. It expires after 2 years.
Each new visit can renew these lifetimes. We use the resulting statistics only to understand which pages are useful and how visitors find the site. We do not use them for advertising and do not combine them with other data to identify you. Our Privacy Policy explains what Google receives and where it is processed, and Google describes how it uses information from sites that use its services.
Changing your choice
Click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to open the banner again, then choose Accept or Decline. If you withdraw your consent, we stop loading Google Analytics and delete its _ga and _ga_RMG8MNGGZQ cookies from your browser. Withdrawing does not affect what was collected before.
You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser’s settings, or block them altogether. The site works the same without them. Google also offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics on all websites.
No cookies in the sender page or the extension
- The sending web page, served by us at relay.remotevisio.com, sets no cookies. It keeps your pairings and your microphone, camera and speaker choices in that browser’s storage (IndexedDB and local storage), on your sending device only.
- The browser extension “Remote Visio Camera” sets and reads no cookies. It saves its settings, your answers for each site and your pairings in the browser’s extension storage, on your computer only.
Neither sends anything to us beyond the encrypted connection setup that passes through our relay. Our Privacy Policy lists exactly what each one stores and how to delete it.
